Millions of years ago, this land was alive with forests.
Where these rocks stand today, trees once grew under ancient skies long before the Rann became a white desert. Time buried them, minerals replaced wood grain by grain, and the forest slowly turned into stone — leaving behind silent fossils in the middle of an unforgiving landscape.
On this night at the Wood Fossil Park near Dholavira, the Milky Way rose above those ancient remains like a bridge between two eras of Earth. Beneath the galaxy were the memories of a lost prehistoric world; above it, light that had travelled thousands of years across space to reach this forgotten corner of Kutch.
For a moment, it felt as if time itself had disappeared — the ancient Earth below, the ancient universe above, and me standing quietly in between them.
