Beneath the Core, Beyond the Map

During our Rann and Stars stargazing event in the Little Rann of Kutch, we set up our telescopes near Jhinjhuwada and offered participants a chance to witness deep-sky wonders under one of the darkest skies in the region.

Once everyone had turned in for the night, we stayed back. There were no mobile towers, no honking, no electricity—just pure silence and the vastness of the salt plains. The Milky Way stretched overhead in full glory, and the feeling of being completely disconnected from the world was both surreal and calming.

In that moment, Bapu—the kind and ever-smiling owner of Little Rann Homestay—prepared a round of hot tea for us right there, amidst the wilderness. It was simple, unexpected, and incredibly refreshing.

With that quiet energy around us and the galaxy above, we captured this image.
A night that reminded us what it means to be truly present—beneath the core, beyond the map.
