Located in the cold desert of Spiti Valley, the Needle Rocks of Moonland are among the region’s most fascinating geological formations. Over millions of years, wind and water have sculpted these towering sedimentary spires into a landscape that closely resembles the surface of the Moon, giving Moonland its famous nickname, “The Moon on Earth.”
Under one of India’s darkest skies, the Milky Way rises above these ancient formations, filling the night with billions of stars, glowing nebulae, and dark dust clouds. Standing here, it’s easy to forget you’re on Earth. The silence, the rugged terrain, and the endless sky create an experience that feels truly otherworldly.
This photograph is a reminder of nature’s incredible artistry, where a landscape shaped over millions of years meets a galaxy that has existed for billions.
