Eternal Trails – The stars dance above, as the land below stands still in time

As part of our Milkyway Saga Photography workshop, we set up our cameras in the vast, quiet landscape of Kutch. A lone boulder stood in the foreground, unchanged for centuries, while above it, the stars slowly traced their paths across the sky.

The wind was steady, and the silence of the night was only broken by the occasional rustle of the dry terrain. As our cameras recorded the Earth’s rotation, we sat back and took in the sky—one of the darkest we had seen, a Bortle 2 sky untouched by city lights.

This land once belonged to the Harappan civilization, and standing here, it was easy to imagine a time when there were no artificial lights, only the natural glow of the stars. Hours passed, the star trails grew longer, and soon, the first hints of twilight appeared on the horizon.

With our shots captured, we packed up, feeling satisfied—not just with the images but with the experience of being under a sky that has remained unchanged for thousands of years.
