Rann and Stars is a one-of-a-kind astronomy and desert experience hosted amidst the
magical landscape of the Little Rann of Kutch, Gujarat — a vast expanse of salt, silence,
and stars.
From Saturday 4 PM to Sunday 10 AM, this overnight event blends stargazing, wildlife,
local culture, and science into one unforgettable experience under one of India’s
clearest skies.
Led by Naiteek Vikamsey, an astrophotographer and astronomer with over 18 years of
experience, the event invites you to gaze at distant worlds through powerful telescopes,
explore the desert by day, and witness the universe come alive at night.

constellations, spot planets, and uncover the stories of the night sky through expert

🌞 India’s First Solar System Scale Model
Proudly presented by Wondrous Heaven, this event features India’s first ever Solar
System Scale Model — a groundbreaking educational installation that lets you walk
across the Solar System under the real night sky.
Each planet — from tiny Mercury to distant Neptune — is placed at its exact scaled
distance from the Sun, accurately representing how vast our Solar System truly is.
You can stand beside “Earth”, look across the desert to spot where “Jupiter” lies, and
realize how immense the emptiness of space really is. It’s not just a display — it’s a
physical experience of cosmic scale, designed to change the way people perceive our
place in the universe.
This unique installation makes Rann and Stars not just a stargazing event, but a living
astronomy exhibit — the first of its kind in India.
Desert Adventures
Rann Safari
Explore the salt desert’s wild beauty and encounter the Indian Wild Ass — also called
the Indian Zebra — an endemic and endangered species found only in the Little Rann of
Kutch.
Salt Farm Visit
See how salt is born from desert water — witness the traditional process of salt
harvesting, a centuries-old livelihood of the Kutch region.
🐦 Birdwatching Trail
Spot vibrant migratory birds such as flamingos, pelicans, and cranes during your trail
through the desert wetlands — a true paradise for nature lovers.
🍛 Local Delicacies & Warm Hospitality

experience conducted across India’s most awe-inspiring dark-sky regions — Greater
Rann of Kutch, Little Rann of Kutch, Jaisalmer, and Ladakh.
Guided by Naiteek Vikamsey, an astrophotographer with over 18 years of experience,
this multi-night workshop blends technique, creativity, and exploration — teaching
participants to capture the grandeur of the Milky Way, star trails, and nightscapes in
some of India’s most dramatic landscapes.
Whether you’re a beginner, enthusiast, or seasoned traveler, Milkyway Saga opens the
door to photographing the universe — and the beauty of Earth beneath it.
What You’ll Experience
Learn Under the Stars
Master the art of planning, composing, and photographing the Milky Way. Each night
session is practical and hands-on, with real-time feedback and guidance on framing,
exposure, and creative storytelling.
Star Trails & Landscape Integration
Capture the motion of the stars as they circle the night sky, weaving together earth and
cosmos. Learn composition techniques that anchor celestial trails within foregrounds
like dunes, salt flats, and monasteries.
Light Painting & Artistic Expression
Experiment with light to transform your frames. Using glow poi and subtle illumination,Light Painting & Artistic Expression participants learn to paint landscapes with color and movement, turning photography
into art.
Post-Processing & Editing
Bring your captures to life through detailed post-processing tutorials. Learn professional
workflows using PixInsight, Photoshop, and Lightroom — including noise reduction,
blending, and color enhancement.
Open to Everyone no prior astrophotography experience is needed. If you have a DSLR or mirrorless
camera and curiosity about the night sky, this workshop is built for you.

Greater Rann of Kutch — The White Desert of Infinity
Under one of India’s clearest and most expansive skies, the White Rann becomes a
glowing canvas at night. The endless salt desert mirrors the Milky Way, creating surreal
reflections of the stars. Here, participants compose wide-field panoramas and star
trails over vast, silent horizons.
Little Rann of Kutch — Land of Salt & Serenity
In this raw, natural desert, the Milky Way arches over cracked salt terrain and shallow
water plains. Daytime breaks include birdwatching, salt farm visits, and spotting the
Indian Wild Ass, offering endless inspiration for night compositions.
Jaisalmer — The Golden Desert
Amid the sand dunes of the Thar, the night sky glows over golden landscapes. Light
painting against sandstone textures, silhouette shots, and desert nightscapes make this
location a creative playground for photographers.
Ladakh — The Roof of the World
High in the Himalayas, under crystal-clear skies, Ladakh offers a celestial canvas
unmatched anywhere in India. The Milky Way rises over ancient monasteries, high-
altitude lakes, and mountain ridges — a breathtaking setting for advanced
astrophotography and panoramic work.

Overview
Beyond the Stars is a 3-night deep-sky astrophotography workshop designed to take you
past what the naked eye can see — into the heart of the universe itself.
Created and led by Naiteek Vikamsey, an astrophotographer with over 18 years of
experience, this workshop goes beyond stargazing and nightscapes — teaching
participants how to photograph nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters using professional
astrophotography techniques.
From setup to final image, Beyond the Stars guides you through every stage of the deep-
sky imaging process — blending science, precision, and artistry under some of India’s
darkest skies.

What You’ll Experience
From Basics to Mastery
Start from the fundamentals and progress toward advanced imaging skills. Each night,
you’ll build upon your understanding of equipment, software, and imaging workflows —
capturing real celestial targets in the field.
Hands-On Equipment Training
Work directly with GoTo equatorial mounts, guided telescope systems, cooled astro
cameras, and electronic focusers. Learn how to assemble, balance, power, and
automate your setup for flawless long exposures.
Image Acquisition
Understand the full process of deep-sky imaging — from polar alignment and
autoguiding to filter selection, exposure strategy, and data calibration. Learn how to
shoot efficiently using both ASIAIR and NINA control systems.
Narrowband & Broadband Imaging
Explore the use of narrowband filters (Hα, OIII, SII) for emission nebulae and broadband
filters for galaxies and reflection targets. Learn how to adapt imaging styles for various
sky conditions and moon phases.Image Processing with Siril & Photoshop
Transform your raw data into beautiful final images using Siril for stacking and
calibration, followed by Photoshop for stretching, color enhancement, and fine details.
Every step is demonstrated live and practiced together.

Each imaging night combines structured lessons and hands-on capture time — with
one-on-one guidance, troubleshooting support, and personalized feedback as you work
on your chosen targets.
